FALL IS HERE! Cooler mornings, changing leaves, football weekends, and maybe one last trip to the lake. 🍂

Fall is a great reminder that seasons change—and sometimes our insurance needs do too. If you've had changes to your home, vehicles, family, or finances this year, it may be a good time for an insurance review. Our team can help answer questions about auto insurance, home insurance, renters insurance, and life insurance so you can head into the rest of the year feeling prepared!

My wife, Tara, and I moved to Detroit Lakes in 2019 when I was granted the opportunity to open my State Farm agency here, however, I grew up a few hours away in Grandy, MN. I received my degree in PGA Golf Management from the University of Nebraska and before I began my career in the insurance industry, I was a Golf Professional in Minnesota and California. When I’m not in the office you can catch me golfing, boating and paddle boarding on the lake with Tara and our boys Crew and Cove, or bow hunting for deer when the seasons change. Minnesota is an excellent place to enjoy outdoor recreation and beautiful views. My wife and I look forward to growing our family here and continuing to make positive relationships within the Detroit Lakes community.

Since opening my State Farm agency in Detroit Lakes, I have enjoyed every opportunity to help others gain the insurance coverage necessary to keep themselves and their loved ones covered, no matter what life has in store for them. I have gotten to know so many small business owners and members of my community through my membership with the Detroit Lakes Chamber of Commerce and Detroit Lakes Rotary Club. My experienced team of insurance professionals and I strive to provide exceptional protection for our customers ranging from auto insurance, homeowners insurance, renters insurance, business insurance, life insurance, health insurance, and financial services. We love assisting the Becker and Otter Tail County communities as well as assisting welcoming those relocating to the state of Minnesota. We are also licensed to help our neighbors in North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin!

Please stop in sometime to meet with myself and my incredible team! We pride ourselves on great customer service and quality insurance coverage you can rely on. We look forward to working with you!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Can multi-vehicle or family discounts lower my monthly cost?

A: Yes! Insuring more than one vehicle on the same account often unlocks discounts that lower your overall rate. Have questions about adding a new driver or vehicle? Nick Christenson in Detroit Lakes is here to walk you through your savings options.

Q: Does homeowners insurance cover damage from natural disasters like floods?

A: Standard homeowners accounts generally do not cover damage caused by flooding or rising surface water. Separate flood protection is required against these risks. Reach out to Nick Christenson in Detroit Lakes to understand your property's specific risks and choices.

Q: How does condo insurance differ from standard homeowners insurance?

A: Condo insurance focuses on the interior of your unit, such as walls, fixtures, upgrades, and personal possessions, while your HOA account covers shared exterior building elements. Nick Christenson in Detroit Lakes can review your HOA master setup to ensure there are no gaps in your protection.

Q: When is the right time to buy life insurance?

A: Generally, the younger and healthier you are when you secure protection, the lower your monthly rates will be. Life milestones like buying a home, getting married, or having a child are ideal times to evaluate your needs. Contact Nick Christenson in Detroit Lakes to start the conversation today.
